We actively monitor Amazon Vendor Central announcements to stay up to date on the latest policy changes. When Amazon updates its rules, we translate those changes into account-level actions across PO acceptance, routing, ASN accuracy, shortage disputes, AVS reviews, and co-op accruals.
For example, Amazon rolled out several Vendor Central changes between January and March 2026. Here is what changed and how we already handle it across our clients’ accounts:
- More chargeback categories and tighter on-time targets
Amazon added new shortage and routing categories and lowered the on-time delivery threshold in several categories. We score every shipment against the new targets before it goes out, and our dispute process has been remapped to the new codes.
- Stricter rules for Amazon Vendor Services (AVS)
Amazon has changed the rules for AVS qualification, with higher revenue thresholds and revised performance requirements in some categories. We audit AVS spend against actual lift every quarter and exit programs that no longer deliver a return.
- New shortage penalties and co-op fee changes
Higher shortage penalties and revised co-op accruals are cutting net margins by 2-8 percentage points for many vendors. We factor the new accruals into PO acceptance decisions and push them back at the annual negotiation.
